MD (Mr. Dutty) & Knowledge are MDK

Two young guys from a small West Indiancommunity in Telford in the Midlands. Always writing rhymes from a young age, they both had a thirst for music which led them to their fateful meeting in a sound recordings course at New College.

During this time, they teamed up with producer Kleiko to record together under the moniker DAE producing for underground hip hop label ‘Street Dreams’, as well as doing remixes for Aaliyah and Blaze featuring Meira (Kickin’ Music). Their debut track ‘Who Dat Dere’ received a great response from the streets, and also grabbed the attention of Diesel who entered them into the Diesel U Music Awards 2003. They went on to become the Diesel U Music Urban Award Winners 2003.

Shortly after, while working on their debut album with London-based producers, Afreex, MDK teamed up with a large number of UK heavywieghts (Shola Ama, JD, Maxwell D to name but a few) on the undergound mix cd Union Black (www.union-black.co.uk). The album went onto win an Underground Music Award in 2005 for Best Compilation. The collaborative effort features no less than 13 tracks with guest appearences from MD & Knowledge.

MDK are currently in the studio putting the finshing touches to their album: Our Life ...Your Entertainment - Look out for Single & Video release coming early this year.
